​Haymarket: A New Folk Musical tells the true story of Chicago’s infamous Haymarket Affair. Anarchist labor leaders clash with a brutal police force, and violent rebels armed with dynamite threaten to destroy the labor movement before it starts. The most important untold story in American history, brought to life by a company of twelve actor-musicians, singing and playing through the folk, Americana and bluegrass score.

First presented in 2016 to a sold-out run and critical acclaim, as well as a Jeff nomination for Best New Musical, Haymarket has been further developed by Underscore Theatre, working with director Nick Thornton and Jeff Award-winning music director Robert Ollis to create a brand-new theatrical experience, where actors create the band, immersing the audience in the music of the revolution!
