"Coraline," written by David Greenspan with music and lyrics by Stephin Merritt and based on the popular novella by Neil Gaiman, follows a young girl who is bored in her new house, as she stumbles upon a new universe right next door.
Young Coraline Jones explores the new home she's moved into with her Mom and Dad. Each flat houses interesting neighbors like the fantastic Mr. Bobo and his mice circus; or two former thespians and current sisters Ms. Spink and Ms. Forcible, who never married so they're undivorceable. During Coraline's magical exploration, she finds a door to another flat that looks exactly like hers, except for the talking cat, the singing rats, and the strange other mother and other father who gives her anything she wants, but at a price. Coraline must eventually find her kidnapped parents, save three ghost kids, and get back to her normal dull world before the evil Beldam can take her soul and replace her eyes with black buttons.
