Songs For Nobodies Tickets

What if you had the chance to see the most revered female vocalists in history showcasing their talents in one thrilling cabaret evening? Hearing Bernadette Robinson’s astonishing performance in “Songs for Nobodies” is an experience that comes shockingly close to the real deal. First performed in 2010, this unique show was written and designed specifically to exhibit the breathtaking vocal abilities of Australian performer Robinson, including her remarkable talent for impersonating some of the strongest voices of the past century.

After director Simon Phillips saw Robinson perform in Melbourne, he didn’t waste any time in developing this instantly successful one-woman show. Robinson and Phillips selected playwright Joanna Murray-Smith (“Honour,” “Switzerland”) to write the script, a collage of poignant vignettes. Robinson steps into the shoes of five of the world’s best-loved powerhouse singers: Patti LuPone, Edith Piaf, Judy Garland, Billie Holiday, and Patsy Cline. Her ability to transform her own voice to that of the five iconic singers must be heard to be believed.

What to watch for

Although Phillips and Robinson knew they wanted a show featuring her vocal impersonations, Murray-Smith who came up with the concept of making the five characters in the various vignettes ordinary women (hence “nobodies”) who idolise the individual musical icons for whom they each sing their songs.

Already well-known in the theatre scene of Melbourne, Robinson makes here West End And London debut with “Songs for Nobodies.”

The five singers showcased in “Songs for Nobodies” were chosen by Robinson because their voices are particularly distinct from one another and each represent a major contribution to their own particular genre of Western music.
