More information about Pantoland at the Palladium

During the holiday season, theatres all across the country put on pantomimes. The musical comedies are a staple of a British Christmas; a chance for actors to let their hair down and really push theatre to its boundaries by making audiences laugh, as well as featuring traditional sketches. The Palladium continues its annual tradition of Christmastime theatre with Pantoland at the Palladium, and an all-star cast will be taking to the West End for the glitziest holiday show. Pantoland at the Palladium tickets are on sale now.

There are a few stories which are considered to be pantomime canon: Cinderella, Dick Whittington, Snow White, Peter Pan and Aladdin to name a few. But what about a pantomime show that brings all the best bits together? Rather than following one tale, Pantoland welcomes audiences into a make-believe world, celebrating London Palladium pantomimes gone by with new surprises thrown in. Look forward to special effects from Twin FX, as well as fire breathing from Flame Oz, to really make sure Pantoland at the Palladium is the hottest Christmas show around.

A pantomime wouldn’t be complete without its headline cast, and Pantoland definitely features some of this country’s finest talent. For this year’s show, audiences will be treated to Donny Osmond as the Wizard of Pantomime. The Emmy-winning American singer and entertainer has sold over 100 million albums, so we can’t wait to see his twist on British pantomime.

Before this era of London Palladium pantomimes, London audiences could expect a Christmassy event each year at the iconic venue. From 1948 - 1987, pantomimes were held most years, with stars including Julie Andrews, Elaine Paige and Bruce Forsyth appearing in productions. Now, for 2021, Pantoland at the Palladium in London promises to honour time-held traditions, as well as usher in a new era of Christmas theatre. Pantoland at the Palladium tickets are on sale now.

What to Watch For

  • Donny Osmond is best known as one-fifth of The Osmonds. He’s also played Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
  • This era of annual pantomimes began at the London Palladium in 2016. So far, there’s been productions of Cinderella, Dick Whittington, Snow White and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Pantoland at the Palladium aims to celebrate the magic of all past productions in one extravaganza!
  • Pantoland at the Palladium sees a variety of entertainers who have appeared in the majority of London Palladium pantomimes since 2016. Julian Clary, Nigel Havers, Paul Zerdin, Gary Wilmot, Jac Yarrow and Sophie Isaacs will all be taking part.
  • Pantoland at the Palladium originally opened in 2020, but was suspended days into the run due to a December lockdown.
