ABBA stormed onto the global music scene when the group won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with their single 'Waterloo,' which became their first number-one single in the UK. The group achieved nine number-one singles in the UK, and the ABBA holograms will perform seven of these hit songs during ABBA Voyage.
To create the avatars (known as ABBAtars), all four original band members wore motion-capture suits and performed the twenty-song set. They used approximately 160 cameras to film the performances over five weeks. Industrial Light & Magic, the motion picture visual effects company behind Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, designed the graphics for the ABBA Voyage concert.
