Based on the hit film, this hilarious musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. While teaching these pint-sized prodigies what it means to truly rock, Dewey falls for the school’s beautiful, but uptight headmistress, helping her rediscover the wild child within.

A new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical based on the hit Jack Black movie of the same name, School of Rock is a big Broadway transfer, playing at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. Dewey Finn is a failed rockstar whose attitude, and constant need to upstage his bandmates, sees them kicking him out of their group - right before a big competition. He sees a chance to pick himself up and make some real cash when his friend Ned, a substitute teacher, is offered a job. All Dewey has to do is impersonate him.
At the prestigious Horace Green school, Dewey plays the part of Ned and finds himself teaching a bunch of preppy kids who, despite being musically talented, have never heard of rock’n’roll! Dewey realises that if he can turn this class of kids into a rock band, he can enter them into a battle of the band competition and live out his dream.
