About The Book of Mormon

Hello! We would like to share with you the most amazing musical This show will change your life, so book The Book of Mormon tickets on TodayTix.

Don't miss the hit musical comedy from the double EGOT winner Robert Lopez, and the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, in the West End. London Theatre raved in a review that “Like the contents of The Book of Mormon itself, this show could well end up being the stuff of legend.”

The Book of Mormon musical follows Elder Price, a rising star in his church and a shining example for all the Mormons around him. When it’s his turn to go on his mission, he dreams of going to Orlando to spread his faith. So when he ends up in Uganda with the awkward Elder Cunningham, he struggles to see “God’s plan.”

While the missionaries are concerned they can’t convert their new neighbours to Mormonism, the locals are doing all it takes to survive in a war-torn country. At one point, it seems as if Elder Price and Elder Cunningham are way over their heads. That’s until they meet the local young woman Nabulungi, who believes everything Elder Cunningham says and dreams of a simpler life. Make tomorrow your latter day and see The Book of Mormon in London.

More information about The Book of Mormon

Did you know that all of the beliefs The Book of Mormon musical satirises are real? That’s right, as wild as the show is, it’s based on tenets of the actual holy text. For example, Joseph Smith really believed he translated the Mormon text from golden plates. While the show’s drawn attention for its religious satire, the musical’s message about faith and belief will capture your heart.

Get ready for hilarious songs throughout The Book of Mormon like “Spooky Mormon Hell Dream,” “Baptise Me,” and the whistlestop Mormon history song, “All-American Prophet,” and enjoy all of The Book of Mormon songs from the Grammy Award-winning score. Find out what makes the musical one of the West End’s biggest hits and longest-running shows today.

The Book of Mormon pulls together a cracking creative team. Alongside Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez who created The Book of Mormon musical, there’s excellent direction and choreography by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw (watch out for the tap dancing in “Turn It Off”), and set design by Scott Pask that’s of Biblical proportions.

What to Watch For:

  • When Matt Parker, Trey Stone, and Robert Lopez were writing the show, they spent time in Salt Lake City, Utah in order to capture authentic experiences. Over half of Salt Lake City inhabitants are Mormon.
  • The Frozen and The Book of Mormon connections don’t just stop with Robert Lopez. Josh Gad, who originated the role of Elder Cunningham, went on to play the animated snowman, Olaf, in Frozen.
  • Even though The Book of Mormon is not directly affiliated with the religion, the Latter Day Saints church wanted to make their mark on the show. The church took out ads in The Book of Mormon programs, inviting audiences to read the original text once they’d seen the show.
  • There are popular culture references for Nabulungi’s name, and she’s called different things throughout the show. Listen for all the references as you watch the show; she’ll be referred to as a variety of people and objects beginning with ‘n’.
