Delightful, Absorbing, Romantic, Great acting, Entertaining

See it if The acting is great, and it's never boring. McKellan is very cheeky in this, bringing the audience with him in the jokes. Allam is lovely

Don’t see it if I think the writing isn't quite up there, it's not Alan Bennett or Samuel Beckett. It could be a bit shorter and sharper.

More information about Frank & Percy

Up-and-coming playwright Ben Weatherill debuted his heartfelt comedy earlier this year at the Theatre Royal Windsor and Theatre Royal Bath, where it played to sold-out houses. Frank and Percy will be directed by Sean Mathias, featuring production design by Morgan Large, lighting design by Nick Richings, and sound design by Andy Graham.

Now, Frank and Percy makes its London debut at The Other Palace. The play will be the first production at The Other Palace to participate in their new writing development fund, contributing 50p from each ticket sale to support emerging playwrights and new writing.

What to Watch For

  • Ian McKellen is well-known for his work as a Shakespearean actor. His first Shakespeare performance was at twelve years old when he performed an extract as Malvolio from Twelfth Night at school.
  • Writer Ben Weatherill’s play Jellyfish was shortlisted for the Writers' Guild Award for Best Play and listed as one of The Stage’s best plays of 2018. .
  • The original London production of Les Misérables saw Roger Allam create the role of Inspector Javert. He played the role from 1985 to 1986.
  • Have you ever wondered how The Other Palace got its name? Well, this off-West End theatre derives its name from its proximity to Buckingham Palace — hence, it is the “other” palace.
