A Night with Janis Joplin in London is a musical journey through Janis Joplin’s storied rock and roll career from Woodstock and beyond with hit songs like Me and Bobby McGee, Summertime, and Cry Baby. The show also includes many of Joplin’s inspirations, including Odetta, Etta James, and Aretha Franklin.

See Mary Bridget Davies reprising her Tony-nominated role from the Broadway run as Janis Joplin. Sharon Sexton (Billy Elliot the Musical) will also be playing the role of Janis Joplin in the matinee performances.

A Night with Janis Joplin is a musical that first premiered in 2011. The show was a box office success and toured for two years before coming to Broadway in 2013 for a 140-performance run. Since the show closed on Broadway, it has toured North America, visiting over 130 cities, and it even had a short run in Japan in 2022.

The creative team behind this hit show includes Randy Johnson (Elvis: The Concert), who wrote the musical book and directed the show. Anne Vosser (Bright Half Life) casted the show, and Patricia Wilcox (Motown the Musical) choreographed it.

In a 2016 interview, Randy Johnson said of the show, “A Night With Janis Joplin is by far my favorite and most personal work to date. Everything I learned from my past productions led to this remarkable time in my life on a personal and professional perspective. My dreams of Broadway as a playwright and director came true with this show and I am forever grateful and never take any of it for granted.”
