About The Score

Don't miss multi-award-winning actor Brian Cox (Succession) starring in The Score at Theatre Royal Haymarket. Book The Score tickets on TodayTix.

The gripping play also stars Cox's real-life wife, Nicole Ansari-Cox (Deadwood). The show is set in 1747 in Potsdam, Prussia when the tyrannical Frederick II summons the world-renowned composer Johann Sebastian Bach. The two men couldn't be more different, with Frederick II being an atheist who revels in war and Johann Sebastian Bach being religious and against war. However, Frederick is intrigued by Bach and his work, so he gives him a musical challenge.

The new play was first staged in 2023 at Theatre Royal Bath, marking Brian Cox's first return to the stage since 2006. The 4-star The Telegraph review said of the production, "Brian Cox is magnificent as he returns to the stage."
