Legendary poet/playwright Murray Mednick, a pioneer of New York’s off-off-Broadway movement in the ’60s, premieres his newest work.
Six actors occupy three tables at one restaurant, overseen by two waiters. Petty animosities, meta theatrical references and allusions to the Holocaust are juxtaposed in Mednick's existential meditation on the advent of tyranny.
Mr. Mednick is the recipient of an Obie award for Outstanding Play, two Rockefeller Foundation grants and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He has also received an American Theatre Critics Association Best New Play, a Career Achievement Award from the LA Weekly, and the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle’s Margaret Harford Award for Sustained Excellence in Theater.
