In little more than a decade of recording music and playing sold-out shows worldwide, Jake Shimabukuro has redefined the ukulele. In his hands this diminutive Hawaiian instrument becomes a complex and bold new musical force. This holiday performance will feature special guests Justin Kawika Young and Jackson Waldhoff.
Since rising to fame in the early 2000s, ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro has captivated audiences with his innovative style, bringing the instrument to new heights. Over a dozen solo albums, he’s blended genres with ease. Taught by his mother at four, Jake quickly became a local sensation, performing solo and with the group Pure Heart. His viral YouTube cover of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” launched him internationally, leading to performances at venues like The Hollywood Bowl and collaborations with artists like Yo-Yo Ma and Jack Johnson. Recently, President Joe Biden nominated him to the National Council on the Arts.
