Phillip has a moment to himself. He hears a familiar moo from a cow outside. The farmwork is done, he had spaghetti for dinner, and he’s on his second beer-in-bed of the night. The rain is sudden on the tin roof above him and it just makes his mattress more comfy. The house is empty. The rain is hard. He undoes his belt and finds the right play button. Deafening thunder and a blinding flash of lightning. Stillness eventually comes back. Phillip is still. The movie is still playing. He hears a somehow lusty moo from a cow outside. The rain is rock hard.
