You do not mess with Kristin Miller. In the 1960s, she was a radical activist and political protester. Now a celebrated art historian, the publication of her memoir threatens to split her family apart. But Kristin has never been one to shy away from a fight.
Direct from London, Roundabout Theatre Company presents the New York debut of Alexi Kaye Campbell’s biting play with the “Magnificent” (The Independent) Stockard Channing in a powerhouse performance as a woman facing the repercussions of her past. "Apologia" is a passionate, human and humorous clash of generations and beliefs—a lively look at yesterday’s rebels living in today’s reality. Directed by Daniel Aukin ("Bad Jews," "Admissions," "Skintight").

When Kristin Miller’s sons arrive at her home on the English countryside to celebrate her birthday, tensions arise in Alexi Kaye Campbell’s “Apologia.” Kristin, a radical political activist has just released her memoir. However, a major plot point of her past is missing from the book: any mention of her children.
The boys, all grown up, are back — and they’ve brought their girlfriends with them. One is a timid American Christian, the other a sharp soap opera star. Directed by Daniel Aukin, the play stars Stockard Channing, who reprises her acclaimed performance from the 2017 West End revival of “Apologia.”
The original production of Alexi Kaye Campbell’s “Apologia” debuted at London’s Bush in 2009.
This revival opened at Trafalgar Studios in August 2017.
In this revival, the roles of brothers Peter and Simon are played by the same actor.
Although Stockard Channing moved with the show from the West End to Off-Broadway, there is a new director for New York. Jamie Lloyd helmed the London production, and Daniel Aukin is the director off Broadway.
