“★★★★! It radiates empowerment. Supernova Kate Mulgrew is a force of nature.” - Time Out Critics Pick
“Francesca Faridany is luminous.” - New York Theater Guide
“It’s impossible not to fall in love” (New York Theatre Guide) with Kate Mulgrew (“Orange is the New Black”) and Francesca Faridany (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) in THE HALF-LIFE OF MARIE CURIE, a “brilliantly acted” (CitiTour) new play based on renowned scientist Marie Curie’s empowering friendship with Hertha Ayrton, a radical engineer and suffragette.
Written by Lauren Gunderson, the “enlightening and entertaining” (Time Out) story follows Curie during the summer of 1912 when news of her secret affair threatens to overshadow her second Nobel Prize win. Heartbroken, Curie leaves France to stay with Ayrton at her home on the British seaside, and together they confront the scandal that could end Curie’s career — and drastically alter her life.
Directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, THE HALF-LIFE OF MARIE CURIE is “a fun 90-minute slice of history brimming with wit and wisdom” (New York Stage Review). Written expressly for Audible through its Emerging Playwrights Fund, the play will be available to Audible listeners globally.
