More information about The Illusionists

For the fifth holiday season, The Illusionists are reappearing on Broadway with “Magic of the Holidays” show, and the group of merry magicians conjure up much more than just card tricks. Directed by Neil Dorward, “The Illusionists” features a cast of the most skilled artists from around the globe, including “America’s Got Talent” semi-finalists Dom Chambers (The Showman) and Eric Chien (The Manipulator), Chris Cox (The Mentalist), Paul Dabek (The Trickster), Kevin James (The Inventor), Enzo Weyne (The Unforgettable), and Verba Shadow Theatre.

The winter engagement runs for six weeks through Jan. 5, 2020. Expect to be mesmerized by death-defying stunts and mind-blowing illusions. Bodies will be sawed in half, and magicians may be forced to escape from straitjackets. From big tricks to small, The Illusionists make doves and motorcycles appear out of thin air while decks of cards disappear right before audiences’ eyes.

Recommended for 4+ (everyone must have a ticket regardless of age). Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.

What to watch for

The Illusionists played Broadway for the first time in 2014. Last year’s “Magic of the Holidays” show played at the Marquis Theatre.

“America’s Got Talent” cast member Dom Chambers once led a team of magicians in an 85-hour-long magic show to raise money for charity.

Eric Chien, another “AGT” semi-finalist, dropped out of college to pursue magic — and became the first Asian to ever win the title of FISM World Champion of Close-Up Magic Grand Prix.

The Illusionists are not the only magicians to play Broadway. Famed act Penn & Teller graced the Great White Way in 1987 and again in 2015.
