“Springsteen on Broadway” is a unique evening with Bruce Springsteen, his guitar, a piano, and his very personal stories. Based on his worldwide best-selling autobiography 'Born to Run,' the show's original run in 2017 and 2018 included 236 sold-out performances at Jujamcyn's Walter Kerr Theatre and earned Springsteen a Special Tony Award.

This New Jersey boy is set to take Broadway by storm once more. “Springsteen on Broadway” is the one-man show combining stories from Bruce Springsteen’s 2016 autobiography “Born to Run” with performances of the multi-Grammy Award winner’s hit songs. The Boss opens the show with the fact that he’s never worked a five-day-a-week job — “until now” — The Boss delivers classics such as “Born in the U.S.A.,” “Dancing in the Dark,” “Born to Run,” “The Promised Land” and “The Ring.”
Conceived, written, and directed by Springsteen himself, the hit-maker’s wife, Patti Scialfa, even shows up for two numbers in the show to help Bruce harmonize. But don’t expect all of Springsteen’s tunes to be exactly like you’ve heard them before. The Boss reimagines certain numbers and plays songs that are not his biggest hits! Hurry up and get a ticket because scoring a seat to this show is much “Tougher Than the Rest,” and we’re not lying.
For his 2017 engagement, Bruce Springsteen received a Special Tony Award, with Springsteen on Broadway recognized as a “once-in-a-lifetime theater going experience for the Broadway stage.”
The Broadway premiere of Springsteen on Broadway was only scheduled for eight weeks, but was extended to run for over a year.
Springsteen on Broadway is a great show to spot stars. The Obamas, Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Jackman, Oprah, and more have watched Springsteen in action.
The show is completely uncensored, and the Boss speaks his mind and adlibs every night.
Springsteen’s out-of-town tryout — of sorts — was at the White House. Knowing that the needed an intimate theatre for this specific concert, he explains: “In the last few weeks of the Obama Administration, I played at the White House in the East Room for about 300 people, and I brought this idea down there and it felt really good. I haven’t really played a venue of that size in probably 40 years."
