About Corsicana
In Corsicana, a small city in Texas, a woman with Down syndrome named Ginny and her half-brother Christopher are unmoored in the wake of their mother's death. Their close family friend, Justice, introduces them to a local artist named Lot, a recluse and outsider, hoping that he and Ginny can make a song together. That that'll help somehow. In this restless quartet about care-taking and care-giving, in which the very fabric of reality is up for debate, Will Arbery charts the quiet, particular contracts of the heart that forge a new family.

Corsicana is a play is set in Corsicana, Texas, where adult half-siblings Ginny and Chris have just lost their mother. The two feel like they've been set adrift, not knowing what to do without her, especially Ginny, who has Down syndrome.
In a fortunate turn, their family friend Justice introduces them to the withdrawn artist Lot. As the four make art together and deepen their bonds, they form a new found family as an old one is lost.
Arbery makes a return to Playwrights Horizons with Corsicana off Broadway, as he premiered his Pulitzer-nominated play Heroes of the Fourth Turning there in 2019.

What to Watch For
- Arbery describes himself as being from both Texas and Wyoming, and these two states are where most of his plays are set. Heroes of the Fourth Turning was set in Wyoming, and like Corsicana, he has another play called Plano that's set in the Texas city it's named for.
- Arbery is an award-winning playwright. In addition to being a Pulitzer finalist, Heroes of the Fourth Turning won the Obie Award for Playwriting, Obie Award for Cast and Creative Team, Lucille Lortel Award for Best Play, New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play, and Outer Critics Circle John Gassner Playwriting Award.
- A couple people involved in Corsicana off Broadway have been seen on Broadway this season. Deirdre O'Connell, who plays Justice, is a 2022 Tony nominee for starring in Dana H., and director Sam Gold also directed the 2022 Macbeth revival, starring Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga.
