Every week, this group meets to discuss astrology, curses, crises of faith and career, and otherworldly experiences that don’t have easy explanations.
Today, Matt - the comically lost and well-meaning group leader - struggles to maintain control of a gathering suddenly swept up not only in their own personal beliefs, but a burgeoning social and spiritual revolution. Meanwhile, the teachings of an Insta-famous “shaman” have somehow infiltrated the group-mind. And! There’s an imposter among us! Or maybe... more than one? Are you the imposter?
At a moment when society is experiencing a precarious merging of spirituality and capitalism while seeking something greater than our leaders (and ourselves) … THE STRANGERS CAME TODAY is a new play that invites us all to interrogate our own beliefs and skepticism.
