Linney returns to Broadway for the first time since 2020's My Name Is Lucy Barton, which earned the actress her fifth Tony Award nomination. She's also been nominated for The Little Foxes, Time Stands Still, Sight Unseen, and The Crucible, and has appeared in seven additional Broadway productions. On screen, Linney is best known for her Emmy-nominated performance on Ozark; Emmy-winning performances on Frasier, Wild Iris, The Big C, and John Adams; and Oscar-nominated performances in Kinsey, The Savages, and You Can Count on Me.
Hecht is best known for her roles as Karen on Netflix's Special (which earned her an Emmy nomination), Susan Bunch on the sitcom Friends, and Gretchen Schwarz on the drama series Breaking Bad. She has dozens of additional screen credits and is also a veteran theatre actress, appearing in nine previous Broadway productions.
Proof remains playwright Auburn's best-known play, but he's also had one other show on Broadway: The Columnist. Sullivan has been involved with more than 40 Broadway productions, most as director, including both of Auburn's plays. He has received eight Best Direction of a Play Tony nominations, winning for Proof.
