Pictures from Home follows Sultan’s (Burstein) parents, Irving (Lane) and Jean (Wanamaker), who lived a seemingly perfect American life in a gorgeous house. What began as a celebration and immortalization of his parents also uncovered hidden family secrets and cracks in their facade.
Playwright Sharr White has been on Broadway with The Other Place and The Snow Geese. The Snow Geese also featured Burstein, who won a 2020 Tony Award for playing Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
Lane’s numerous theatrical outings earned him a spot in the Theater Hall of Fame. He's a three-time Tony winner for The Producers, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and Angels in America, and a 2022 Emmy Award winner for Only Murders in the Building.
Wanamaker returns to Broadway for the first time since 2006. She has received Tony nominations for all four of her previous Broadway credits: Piaf, Electra, Loot, and Awake and Sing! Screen audiences know her from My Week with Marilyn and David Copperfield, and as Madame Hooch in the first Harry Potter movie.
Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher (South Pacific, My Fair Lady, To Kill a Mockingbird) directs Pictures From Home in New York. This season, he also directs Camelot at Lincoln Center Theater.
