The National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Gianandrea Noseda have earned rave reviews for their work at Carnegie Hall. This season, they continue their exploration of George Walker’s full sinfonia cycle with his fourth, subtitled “Strands” for the interwoven melodic and thematic threads that form its musical tapestry. Also featured is Stravinsky’s The Firebird, based on a timeless Russian fairy tale, and Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2, an exceptionally difficult work that makes full use of soloist Daniil Trifonov’s immense talent.
