The Lonely Few brings together a few of today’s most exciting musical theatre performers for a queer love story. Lauren Patten rocked out to “You Oughta Know” in Jagged Little Pill and earned a Tony Award nomination for her role, and her co-star in this show, Taylor Iman Jones, originated roles in Head Over Heels and Groundhog Day on Broadway.
In a time when some theatres are presenting smaller shows over bigger musicals, MCC is having an exciting musical-heavy season. The Lonely Few follows MCC’s production of The Connector by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, and now this musical introduces exciting young talent making their mark on the musical theatre scene: there’s composer and lyricist Zoe Sarnak (who has two major musicals bowing this spring, The Lonely Few plus the Raúl Esparza-led Galileo at Berkeley Rep) and bookwriter Rachel Bonds (who made a splash with the critically acclaimed play Jonah this season).
MCC is known for its shows that often transfer to Broadway (like Hand to God) or go on to win a Pulitzer Prize (like Wit), so experiencing a new musical like The Lonely Few offers a unique chance to see a show before it gets big.
The Lonely Few is at New York's The Newman Mills Theatre at the Robert W. Wilson MCC Theatre Space, which is located at 511 West 52nd Street, New York, 10019.

As a new musical, The Lonely Few has not yet been reviewed, but with Broadway stars Taylor Iman Jones (Head Over Heels) and Lauren Patten (Jagged Little Pill) in lead roles in a new musical from an award-winning composer, the show is a buzzy and highly anticipated one.
