Two renowned theatremakers reunite for a lush, gorgeous new musical, The Gardens of Anuncia. This New York premiere from Graciela Daniele and Michael John LaChiusa takes root at Lincoln Center for a limited time only — get The Gardens of Anuncia tickets now.
Daniele, an award-winning performer, choreographer, and director, dramatizes her remarkable life and career as the story of Anuncia, a woman raised in 1940s Argentina under the Perón regime. Decades later, as she tends her garden, she reflects on the women who made sacrifices and gave her the support that allowed her dreams as a theatre artist to blossom.
Stirring tango-infused music by Chiusa, known for shows like The Wild Party and Marie Christine, propels the story alongside direction and choreography by Daniele herself. Get tickets to The Gardens of Anuncia in New York on TodayTix.

Following a world premiere at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre in 2021, The Gardens of Anuncia comes to New York with a cast of celebrated actresses. Priscilla Lopez, beloved for her performance in the original cast of A Chorus Line, leads the show as Anuncia.
Anuncia is the stand-in for Daniele, whose career on the New York theatre scene spans 60 years. She's best known for directing and choreographing Annie Get Your Gun and Once on This Island and choreographing shows like Ragtime. Daniele is also a regular collaborator of fellow dance legend Chita Rivera, as Daniele staged her shows The Visit and Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life. In 2020, she received the Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre.
