More information about Babe

Babe is a contemporary play that takes audiences to the apex of the recording industry. Abby (Tomei) and Gus (Arliss Howard, The Monogamist) are a famed music production couple, enjoying a long career of producing hit after hit across genres, from grunge to femme punk. With fame to their name and the platinum albums to back up their chops, they’ve got it all — but when a new A&R hire, Katherine (Gracie McGaw, The Death of Desert Rose and Murder at The Gates), addresses Abby’s questionable tactics, and the compromises she’s made in her personal life to get to the top of her professional one, Abby must face the music.

As companies continue to contemplate the role of power in the workplace, and how it is tied to gender dynamics, Jessica Goldberg’s bracing play addresses modern issues with wit and wisdom. A unique three-hander, this play promises a rich exploration of a behemoth industry we think we know.
