Audiences and critics love Choir Boy - Must Close 11 March
★★★★★ “Choir Boy delivers in every single way.” – Time Out Sydney
Determined to make his mark, Pharus Young is hell-bent on being the best choir leader in the 50 year history of Charles R. Drew Prep School for Boys. In a world built on dusty rites and rituals, how can he maintain his shine while trying to conform to masculine expectations and gain the respect of the choristers he leads?
Directors Dino Dimitriadis (Overflow, Cleansed) and Zindzi Okenyo (seven methods of killing kylie jenner, Orange Thrower) lead a sensational Australian and International team, presenting Academy Award winner Tarell Alvin McCraney’s (Moonlight) delicate, brutal script. Music Direction by Allen René Louis (Broadway Inspirational Voices) blends the language of high school hallways with the soulful sounds of gospel for an unforgettable night at the theatre.
Riverside’s National Theatre of Parramatta presents the Australian Premiere of this gripping story at Riverside Theatres in association with Sydney WorldPride.

GETTING TO THE VENUE
BY TRAIN: Parramatta is linked from all directions by train. Riverside is approximately a 12-minute walk from Parramatta Train Station.
Exit the station towards Parramatta Square (exit 5), turn left towards Centenary Square, Parramatta Town Hall and PHIVE. Turn right towards Church Street, and follow it up to the theatre, just across the Lennox Bridge.
BY BUS: Bus services are available to Parramatta from all directions: through Hills Bus, Sydney Buses and Hopkinsons. The nearest bus stops are on Wilde Ave/Smith St – a short walk away from the theatre.
BY FREE SHUTTLE: The Parramatta Shuttle Bus is a fast, free and accessible service run by Transport for NSW through Transdev. Operating on a continuous loop starting from Macquarie Street near Centenary Square, the shuttle bus connects rail, bus and ferry transport interchanges with local shops, community hubs and Riverside Theatres.
BY FERRY: Parramatta Quay is an enjoyable 8-minute walk to us along the river.
BY LIGHT RAIL: Parramatta Light Rail will soon be available as a transport option, with the Prince Alfred Square Light Rail stop being a short walk from the theatre.
BY TAXI: The best drop-off point is located behind the theatre on Market Street. For pick-ups, a new secure taxi rank is located at 28 Phillip Street with security guards on duty every Friday and Saturday night from 9pm until 2am to keep you and your driver safe.
BY CAR: Permanent traffic changes are now in place on and around Church Street (between Market & Macquarie Streets) for the Parramatta Light Rail. We advise checking the Riverside Theatres Parramatta Parking Guide.
