Anticipation. Mystery. Clandestine meetings…and missings. Performed outdoors at The Parks at Walter Reed, Missed Connections is a new play performed in the Italian mask style, Commedia dell'Arte. Characters arrive expecting to meet someone… or something!
At its root, Commedia dell'Arte showcases the prowess and ingenuity of each actor and their spirit of collaboration and play. Whether it's Capitano park rangers, Pantalone dog moms,or Zanni Michelin star chefs, Faction of Fools leans into the here and now of Commedia dell'Arte. By creating masks and characters of our contemporary culture, Faction honors the tradition of Commedia dell'Arte: poking fun at current society, celebrating the triumph of the powerless, and featuring the artist-creator.
