Southwark Playhouse, home of the Southwark Playhouse Theatre Company, was founded in 1993 by Juliet Alderdice and Tom Wilson. It was originally housed in an old workshop on Southwark Bridge Road, but operated out of vaults beneath the London Bridge railway station from 2007-2013 and moved to its current home at a warehouse on Newington Causeway that year. Southwark Playhouse includes two performance spaces: a 240-seat mainstage and a 120-seat studio.
