About The Winter’s Tale | Globe

Experience William Shakespeare’s romantic play told like never before across the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse and Shakespeare's Globe.

It’s not all happy at the start of The Winter’s Tale play. When King Leontes, the King of Siciilia, accuses his wife Queen Hermione of sleeping with King Polixenes, the King of Bohemia, he grows paranoid. As a result, he abandons his daughter, Perdita, who is left to be raised by shepherds. Perdita then falls for King Polixenes’s son, Florizel. 16 years later, Leontes wants to restore his destructive ways. Can time heal the past, or will his history catch up with him?

Explore what it means to love in this Shakespeare play.
