A 5, 6, 7, 8! God, I hope I get it… classic musical A Chorus Line returns to London this summer as part of a major UK tour. Book tickets on TodayTix today.
A Chorus Line is a musical set in a New York audition room in 1975 where 24 dancers are trying out for ensemble roles in a new Broadway show. That number is whittled down to 16. But this isn’t an ordinary audition: director Zach asks them to introduce themselves and share their life stories. Through songs, dance, and monologues, the audience gets the chance to know and love and have their hearts broken by all of these young hopefuls as individuals, but only half will make the final cut. Every song in the score has become a standard, and a few highlights include “I Can Do That”, ‘”At the Ballet”, and “What I Did for Love”.
The show stars Adam Cooper as Zach and Carly Mercedes Dyer as auditionee (and Zach’s ex-partner) Cassie, reprising the roles they first played at Leicester Curve in 2021. Further casting is to be announced. Nikolai Foster (artistic director of Leicester Curve) directs an original, non-replica production, and Ellen Kane choreographs.
