The Hollywood Bowl is one of Los Angeles's iconic entertainment venues, nestled in the Hollywood Hills. Since the 1920s, this outdoor amphitheater has been a go-to spot for live music and events. It's hard to miss—the massive white bandshell is pretty much a landmark.
When you go to the Bowl, it's a whole experience. You're driving through the hills, and you can feel the anticipation building as you get closer. With a capacity of 17,500, it's always buzzing with energy, and the vibe is laid-back but lively. People bring their own food and drinks for picnics, so you'll see everything from elaborate charcuterie boards to simple snacks.
The lineup at the Hollywood Bowl is always impressive. You can catch everything from the LA Philharmonic to big-name rock bands, jazz legends, and even film screenings with live orchestras. As the sun sets, the setting becomes even more enchanting—the sky darkens, the stage lights up, and the sound is crystal clear.
If you're in Los Angeles, this place is a must-visit. It's where music, nature, and history all come together for a pretty unforgettable experience. Whether you're into classical music, rock, jazz, or just want a cool spot to hang out on a warm L.A. evening, the Hollywood Bowl has you covered.
While there are many spots to set up, our staff pick is picnic area number 4, which is never too crowded. It requires a it of an uphill walk, but you’ll be rewarded with beautiful views looking over the Bowl.
Parking is harder than ever this year. Use the park and ride or take the red line. If you decide to drive, park at Hollywood and Highland and walk up.
You can bring in your own beer and wine for most events, including all LA Philharmonic events!
It’s usually warm before sunset, but you’ll likely want at least a light jacket once the show is over.
Don't forget to bring water, and be prepared to get your steps in.
The seats in the back of the Bowl have a lovely view of the Hollywood sign.
