Swept Away features a score of Avett Brothers hits from multiple albums including the band’s 2004 concept album Mignonette, which was inspired by the true story of the 1884 shipwreck of the same name, in which a small crew fought for survival for weeks on a lifeboat off the coast of New Bedford, Massachusetts. It is a dark but luminous tale about the choices we make in life and consequences we face, that gets a folksy twist and modern retelling in this new musical. Ask yourself, how far would you go in the face of immense adversity?
