Before he turned to the stage, Chekhov wrote some of the world’s greatest short stories. By turns touching and hilarious, they’ve been adapted for the theatre by the master of comic dialogue Neil Simon. A Broadway hit in 1973.

All performances are at The Undercroft Theatre, in the ground (street) level of the Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church at 900 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C.
The Undercroft Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Washington D.C. on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and 9th Street (NW) and is just steps from the New Convention Center, and blocks from the National Mall, the Smithsonian, the Capitol One Arena, and Chinatown.
The church sits at the point formed by the intersections of 9th St, Massachusetts Avenue and K St, NW. One may enter from either of the street level side entrances on Massachusetts or K St, under the front of the church.
