Acclaimed for her technical command and emotionally charged performances, maestro Karina Canellakis is one of the most in-demand conductors of her generation. Bartók’s immensely popular Concerto for Orchestra—which artfully allows each section of instruments to shine—is the perfect showcase for her Kennedy Center debut.
Canellakis also conducts Brett Dean’s Three Memorials and Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the Left Hand featuring guest soloist Cédric Tiberghien, a “brilliant” French virtuoso with a “rich, rounded tone” and “crisp articulation” (The New York Times).
