Geneva Lewis, violin, with Evren Ozel, piano Tickets

New Zealand-born violinist and rising star Geneva Lewis makes her Washington Performing Arts debut this May at the Terrace Theater with pianist Evren Ozel, the 2023 recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant. From European icons Beethoven and Bartók to contemporary Turkish composer Fazil Say, and one of New Zealand’s most noted composers, Douglas Lilburn, this program’s repertoire covers an expansive range of both eras and geography. For both classical music lovers and newcomers, there is music to be enjoyed by all. Lewis made her orchestral debut at age 11 with the Pasadena POPS and has followed up in her early 20s with honors including the Grand Prize in the 2020 Concert Artists Guild Competition, a 2021 Avery Fisher Career Grant, and a Musical America “Artist of the Month” designation.
